Angels winning on the road
Los Angeles has won its last two series, both of which were on the road. They took two of three from both the Tigers and the Orioles this week. The Angels are 19-21 on the season, 8-12 on the road and 22-17 with the under. Tyler Skaggs takes the mound tonight. He is 3-3 on the season with a 4.70 ERA.
The Angels are averaging 4.88 runs per game this season while hitting .245 at the plate. On the mound, Los Angeles has a team ERA of 4.84, while the team WHIP is 1.36. Mike Trout is hitting .283 this season with eight doubles, nine home runs and 25 RBI. Andrelton Simmons is hitting .313 with 12 doubles and 21 RBI.
Twins split with Detroit
Minnesota had a pretty surprising 4-game split at home with the Detroit Tigers this weekend, losing a pair of 5-3 games over the four contests. The Twins are now 25-14 on the season, 13-7 at home and 20-19 with the over. Jose Berrios is going to get the start for the Twins. He is 6-1 on the season with a 2.53 ERA.
The Twins are putting up 5.28 runs per game while hitting .263 as a team and producing a .829 OPS. The Minnesota pitching staff has a 3.74 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP. Eddie Rosario is leading the team with 13 home runs and 32 RBI. Jorge Polanco is adding a .324 average with 12 doubles, seven home runs and 17 RBI.
MLB Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Angles are 10-2 in their last 12 games against AL Central teams and 6-1 in their last seven games against a right-handed starter.
Minnesota
The Twins have won Berrios’ last five start and 43 of their last 62 home games.
Prediction:
Berrios has been really sharp on the mound this season. He has given up two earned runs or less in his last three starts and has gotten a full six innings in in all eight of his starts this year. Skaggs was pitching pretty well before he gave up seven earned runs in 4.2 innings to the Tigers last Wednesday. His worst two outings of the year came on the road and tonight could be another issue against this solid Minnesota lineup. I like the chances of Berrios to pitch well and for Minnesota to get some good run production.
MLB Prediction: Minnesota Twins -140
