Brewers falter on Saturday
The Brewers took their first loss in this series on Saturday, 4-0. Milwaukee is now 23-17 overall and 13-8 on the road. The Brewers are averaging just 3.82 runs per game this season while allowing 3.90 per contest as well.
The Brewers have Freddy Peralta getting the start this afternoon. This is Peralta’s MLB debut. The 21-year-old from the Dominican Republic is listed as a relief pitcher.
Rockies end losing skid
The Rockies put an end to their three-game losing streak on Saturday with the 4-0 victory. Colorado is now 22-18 overall and 7-10 at home. The Rockies are scoring 4.05 runs per game on offense while allowing 4.45 per contest.
Jon Gray is getting the start for the Rockies this afternoon. He has a 4-4 record through eight starts, but has won his last three starts while allowing only 1 run over 20 innings. On the season, Gray has a 4.24 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP. He has 49 strikeouts and 11 walks over 46.2 innings of work.
MLB Betting Trends
Milwaukee
The Brewers have won five of their last six road games, but are just 3-8 in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record.
Colorado
The Rockies have won five of their last six after a win and they have won 9 of Gray’s last 13 home starts.
Prediction:
Gray was having a rough year but has really been dialed in as of late, dominating the Padres, Cubs and Angels in his last three starts. Today he gets to face a Milwaukee lineup that is among the least productive in the league. I think it leads to another great showing for Gray. The Rockies also should be able to get to this rookie and create some runs early.
The Pick: Colorado Rockies -160
