Marlins throttled at NY

Miami lost by a count of 11-2 Saturday at New York to drop to 10-28 overall and 4-13 on the road. The Marlins trailed 9-0 through two innings and could not recover. Curtis Granderson helped pace the Miami offense as he was 2-for-5 with a run. Neil Walker finished 2-for-5 with an RBI. Brian Anderson went 1-for-4 with an RBI. Pablo Lopez suffered the loss as he gave up 10 earned runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts and two walks over three innings. Sandy Alcantara will start today for Miami as he comes in with a 1-3 record, 4.93 ERA and 1.62 WHIP with 27 strikeouts over 38 2/3 innings.

Eight-run first inning propels Mets

New York rolled at home to an 11-2 victory Friday night over Miami to improve to 18-20 overall and 8-8 at home. Amed Rosario hit a grand slam during the eight-run first inning to factor into the lopsided result. Rosario ended the game 1-for-4 with the grand slam plus a walk. Michael Conforto finished 3-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and three runs scored. Jeff McNeil went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs. Robinson Cano was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, while Wilson Ramos finished 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Brandon Nimmo went 1-for-3 with two walks, a run and two RBIs. Zack Wheeler picked up the win on the mound as he allowed two earned runs on nine hits with 11 strikeouts and one walk over seven innings. Entering tonight's start, deGrom is 2-4 with a 3.60 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with 56 strikeouts over 40 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

Miami

The Marlins are 15-7 in their last 22 Saturday games. Miami is 16-39 in its last 55 games overall.

New York

The Mets are 1-5 in their last six games overall. New York is 0-5 in the last five deGrom starts.

Prediction:

With how much the Mets have struggled in deGrom's starts dating back to the start of last season, I'm almost inclined to take a major risk on the Marlins. Almost. This is deGrom against a terrible Marlins lineup we're talking about and he's already dominated them on the road this season. Look for vintage deGrom here, while Alcantara has been overmatched in most of his starts in 2019 and I fully expect New York to get to him early. Go with the runline bet if you want a better return.
