Reds’ Mahle handed loss despite quality start vs. Marlins
Tyler Mahle surrendered three runs on five hits over six innings in Saturday’s loss to the Marlins. Mahle was undone by a pair of home runs in the loss. Starlin Castro first burned him with a two-run home run in the second inning, while Justin Bour polished off the scoring on his line with a sixth-inning solo shot. He struck out four without walking a batter over his six frames of work. He’ll bring a 4.35 ERA and 1.25 WHIP into a road date with the Dodgers next time out.
Dodgers’ Buehler to remain in Dodgers’ starting rotation
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Walker Buehler will remain in the Dodgers’ rotation for the time being. It wouldn’t be unheard of, but it would have been awfully hard for the Dodgers to come to any other conclusion after Buehler and the Dodgers pen combined for a no-hitter Friday to leave him with a 1.13 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 19 strikeouts through his first three MLB starts. That next start will likely come Thursday against the Reds.
