Miami Marlins Fantasy Spin
Starlin Castro finished 3-for-4 with an RBI against the Cubs on Wednesday. Castro came into this one in a 1-for-30 slump that dropped his average from .267 to .215. He’s had a brutal offensive season that’s included an NL-high nine GIDPs and just four extra-base hits.
Chicago Cubs Fantasy Spin
Jason Heyward hit a walkoff homer in the 11th inning Wednesday to give the Cubs a 3-2 win over the Marlins. Heyward homered off newcomer Jose Quijada, a southpaw making his fourth big-league appearance. It was just the fourth time since the beginning of the 2017 season that he’s homered off a left-hander
MLB Betting Trends
Miami
The Marlins have lost 14 of Trevor Richards’ last 17 starts and are winless at 0-8 in his last eight outings on the road.
Milwaukee
The Cubs are 20-7 in in their last 27 games overall and are 12-2 in their last 14 home games against the Marlins.
Prediction:
The wind is projected to blow straight out to center at 13 miles per hour today at Wrigley. That forecast sets up perfectly for each offense, even though the Marlins couldn’t hit their way out of a wet paper bag. Yu Darvish has struggled with walks and home runs allowed this season and the Cubs’ bullpen has blown late leads multiple times in this series, including in the top of the ninth last night. Given all that, plus the fact that the over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings between these two teams, I see plenty of runs scored today in Chicago.
