Rays vs. Orioles Sunday Prediction
The Orioles much maligned pitching staff surprisingly shut out the Rays on Saturday to even their series in Baltimore. Can the O’s surprise again and pull off the upset on Sunday when these AL East rivals wrap up their series at 1:05 p.m. ET?

Tampa Bay Rays Fantasy Spin
Austin Meadows (thumb) hit off of a high velocity pitching machine without issue on Saturday, and is expected to head out on a minor league rehab assignment next week. Meadows will stay and work out with the team on Monday and Tuesday, but barring any setbacks before then, he’ll begin a minor league rehab assignment after that. He isn’t expected to need many at-bats there, so a return to the Rays’ lineup at some point next weekend isn’t out of the question. The Rays are certainly missing his bat, after his blistering .351/.422/.676 start to the season with six homers, 19 RBI and three swipes through his first 20 games.
Baltimore Orioles Fantasy Spin
Trey Mancini went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles on Saturday in the Orioles’ win over the Rays. Mancini bounced back nicely from Friday’s struggles, as the outfielder had the golden sombrero by striking out four times without a hit in the loss to Tampa Bay. The pair of hits get his average up to .336 with a .910 OPS. He’s one of the few Baltimore regulars who have a chance to provide significant fantasy value in 2019.
MLB Betting Trends
Tampa Bay
The Rays are 21-8 in their last 29 road games.
Baltimore
The Orioles are 17-49 in their last 66 games following a win.
Prediction:
John Means has pitched better than expected, posting solid strikeout and walk rates, as well as elite numbers from a swinging strike and hard-hit rate standpoint. This is a gamble to back a bad Orioles team with a horrendous bullpen, but I do see some value in the home team with the Rays being shut out yesterday. In fact, Tampa Bay is just 1-4 in its last five games played in Baltimore.
The Pick: Baltimore Orioles +157
