St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin
Yairo Munoz delivered three hits Thursday in a loss to Washington. Each of his hits were singles. Munoz represented the tying run in the ninth but Sean Doolittle closed it out for his fourth save. Munoz also committed a throwing error, which led to a run in the fourth inning. The 24-year-old hasn’t seen much action at the big-league level this year, though he’s been effective when called upon, submitting a .333 over 15 at-bats for St. Louis.
Chicago Cubs Fantasy Spin
Javier Baez went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored as the Cubs demolished the Mariners on Wednesday. He did most of his damage in the second inning when he led off with a solo bomb and then slashed an RBI-double as the Cubs plated six runs in the frame. The star shortstop is playing at an MVP level again this year, slashing .314/.352/.653 with 10 home runs, 24 RBI and 25 runs scored. He’s stolen two bases.
MLB Betting Trends
St. Louis
The Cardinals are just 5-15 in their last 20 games played at Wrigley Field.
Chicago
The Cubs are a perfect 8-0 in Kyle Hendricks’ last eight starts against the Cardinals.
Prediction:
The best play on the board today is the under. The wind is expected to be blowing in from left center at 11 mph, which will negate some of the hard contact (43.0%) that Hendricks is allowing. Jack Flaherty toes the rubber for St. Louis today and he’s been outstanding outside of one area: home runs allowed. Again, with the win blowing in at over 10 mph, that weakness should be negated. The under is 37-16-1 in Hendricks’ last 54 home starts and is 4-1 in the Cardinals’ last five road games.
The Pick: Cardinals/Cubs UNDER 7
