Diamondbacks playing well
Despite a few losses to the Cubs last weekend, Arizona has still won seven of its last nine coming into this series. Arizona is now 18-13 on the season, 11-6 on the road and 15-14 with the over. The D’Backs have Robbie Ray taking the mound today. He is 1-1 on the season with a 4.18 ERA.
Arizona is putting up 5.19 runs per game this season while hitting .263 as a team at the plate. Defensively, the Diamondbacks have a 4.18 ERA as a team and a 1.30 WHIP. David Peralta is leading the team right now with a .315 average, 13 doubles, four home runs and 20 RBI. Ketel Marte is adding seven home runs and 22 RBI.
Rockies end road trip
Colorado wrapped up a 7-game road trip this week in Milwaukee with a pair of wins. The Rockies were 4-3 during the road trip. Colorado is now 15-17 on the season, 5-7 at home and 16-14 with the under. Tyler Anderson is on the mound for Colorado tonight. He is 0-2 with an 11.34 ERA.
The Rockies are right in the middle of the road when it comes to hitting and pitching. The team is averaging 4.59 runs per game while hitting .238. On the mound, Colorado has a 4.43 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP. Nolan Arenado has been leading the team this season with seven doubles, nine home runs and 27 RBI. MLB Betting Trends
Arizona
The Diamondbacks are 5-1 in their last six following a win and 5-2 in their last seven against a left-handed starter.
Colorado
The Rockies are 8-3 in their last 11 games following a win and 12-5 in their last 17 games on grass.
Prediction:
Both pitchers have had their struggles, but Ray at least has had some history of being a good pitcher at times. Anderson has given up at least five earned runs in every start this year and is now facing a solid Arizona lineup that can mash the ball. Even going on the road, I don’t think the Diamondbacks will have trouble scoring runs. Colorado just won’t have the pitching to take this one today.
MLB Prediction: Arizona Diamondbacks -110
