Orioles’ Tillman fires seven innings of one-hit ball vs. Tigers
Chris Tillman was brilliant in Friday’s victory over the Tigers, allowing one hit and a pair of walks over seven innings of shutout baseball. The veteran right-hander struck out five on the night. He entered Friday’s start with a 9.87 ERA through his first four starts, so this outing came completely out of nowhere. He’ll look to carry over the momentum from this fine effort when he takes on the Angels in Los Angeles on Thursday.
Angels to recall Barria for start on Thursday
Jaime Barria will be recalled prior to tonight’s game against the Orioles. It will be his third start of the season. The 21-year-old allowed two runs and five hits in two-plus innings on April 22 against the Giants in his last start. He also defeated the Rangers in his major-league debut on April 11 when he surrendered one run and one hit in five innings.

They’re also 0-5 in his last five outings coming off a quality start in his last appearance and are 1-6 in his last seven starts when he faces a team with a winning record. On the other side, the Angels are 8-3 in their last 11 games coming off a win, are 13-3 in their last 16 games versus a team with a winning percentage below .400 and are 5-1 in their last six games when their opponent allows five runs or more in their previous game.
