New York Yankees Fantasy Spin
Gary Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in the Yankees’ 6-4 victory over the Giants on Saturday. With the Yankees leading 2-0, Sanchez obliterated a Derek Holland offering over the left-field stands to give the Yankees a 6-0 lead. The backstop now has seven homers to begin the year, and he’s driven in 15. Sanchez is hitting just .231, but he still has a .964 OPS because of the power numbers. Expect lots of volatility, but he remains one of the best fantasy backstops in baseball.
San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin
Yangervis Solarte went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer on Saturday in a loss to the Yankees. It came in garbage time, but it still counts. With the Giants trailing 6-0, Solarte hit a blast off of Luis Cessa, and it’s his first homer of the season for the utility player, and first in a San Francisco uniform. He’s now hitting .235 with a .664 OPS, and offers no fantasy significance in his current role
MLB Betting Trends
New York
The Yankees are now 5-1 in their last six road games.
San Francisco
The Giants have lost 37 in their last 53 games overall.
Prediction:
Oddsmakers are giving us another price break on the Yankees and I’m not sure why. The Yankees are 4-1 in Domingo German’s last five starts and are 4-1 in his last five outings on the road. Meanwhile, the Giants have lost nine of Dereck Rodriguez’s last 12 starts and are winless in his last seven outings at home. The Yankees have shown zero signs of slowing down offensively despite their best hitters being on the IL.
The Pick: New York Yankees -125
