Miami Marlins Fantasy Spin
Jorge Alfaro cranked a solo home run Tuesday in Cleveland. Starter Carlos Carrasco had to leave the game after four innings with a knee injury and Alfaro welcomed reliever Neil Ramirez by depositing his first offering in the fifth inning over the right field wall for an opposite-field homer. It was the catcher’s lone hit on the night and he struck out twice, which is a pretty typical Alfaro game.
Cleveland Indians Fantasy Spin
Tyler Naquin drove in the Indians’ lone run in Tuesday’s loss to the Marlins. The Tribe couldn’t get anything going against Pablo Lopez, but they did take advantage of a Starlin Castro error in the seventh when Naquin singled in a run with two outs. It’s been a rough go of it this season for Naquin, as he’s had just one extra-base hit over the last two weeks and has a 20/2 K/BB on the year.
MLB Betting Trends
Miami
The Marlins are just 2-6 in Sandy Alcantar’s last eight starts.
Cleveland
The Indians are 26-9 in their last 35 games played on Wednesday.
Prediction:
I’m going to take a shot here with the Marlins. They don’t have a great offense but Jefry Rodriguez is exploitable and Miami has a couple of left-handed bats in Curtis Granderson and Neil Walker that could do some damage versus the righty. Meanwhile, Sandy Alcantara will start for the Marlins and while he’s far from a perfect product, he generates groundballs and limits walks. He’ll give the Marlins a chance this afternoon.
The Pick: Miami Marlins +160
