Cleveland trying to find consistency
Cleveland has won its last two games, but the Tribe haven’t been able to string wins together over the last week. They are just 3-3 in their last six. Cleveland is now 11-8 on the season and 5-6 on the road. The Tribe are putting up 3.58 runs per game this season while allowing just 2.84 per contest.
Carlos Carrasco gets the start for the Indians tonight. He is 3-0 through four starts this year with a 2.60 ERA and a 0.80 WHIP. Over 27.2 innings of work, Carrasco has given up eight runs with 21 strikeouts and four walks.
Orioles falling apart
Baltimore has lost eight of its last nine games following a 7-3 loss to the Indians at home on Sunday. The Orioles are now 6-16 overall and 3-6 at home. Baltimore is scoring only 3.27 runs per game this year while allowing 5.50 per contest.
Kevin Gausman will toe the rubber for Baltimore tonight. He is 1-1 through four starts with a 5.57 ERA and a 1.57 WHIP. Over 21 innings of work, Gausman has 19 strikeouts with six walks.
MLB Betting Trends
The Indians have won Carrasco’s last four Monday starts and 20 of his last 26 starts against a losing team. The Tribe are also 21-10 in their last 31 road games against a right-handed starter.
The Orioles have lost Gausman’s last seven starts against AL Central opponents and five of his last seven starts at home. They have also lost eight of their last 10 home games against winning teams.
There’s just nothing to like about the Orioles right now. They give up far too many runs and can’t hit consistently. The Indians have another strong pitcher on the mound today and their hitting should see an uptick against Gausman.
The Pick: Cleveland Indians -180
