Marlins’ Urena falls to 0-3 on season with loss to Pirates
Jose Urena fell to 0-3 by giving up four runs in five innings in a loss to the Pirates on Sunday. Urena gave up eight hits, and he walked one while striking out five.
Outside of a strong outing against the Red Sox in his second outing, Urena has struggled to locate, and his ERA has ballooned to 5.57 season. It’s very early, but this hasn’t been a very good followup to his solid 2017 campaign. He’ll try and bounce back on Saturday against the Brewers in Milwaukee.
Brewers Suter okay vs. Reds but falls to 1-2
Brent Suter fell to 1-2 after allowing three runs in five innings Monday against the Reds. The Brewers offense might have let Suter off the hook, except Oliver Drake was left in to give up six runs in the sixth and put the game out of reach. Suter has a 4.87 ERA through four starts. He can be an adequate No. 5 for Milwaukee, but his ceiling is pretty low.
MLB Betting Trends
Miami
The Marlins are 0-6 in Urena’s last six starts but are 7-2 in his last nine road outings.
Milwaukee
The Brewers are 7-3 in Suter’s last 10 starts and are 5-2 in his last seven home outings.
Prediction:
Despite the Marlins being shutout on Friday night I like the over in Saturday night’s matchup. The over is 8-1-1 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams in Milwaukee and is 40-18-3 in the last 62 meetings between these two teams overall. Neither of these pitchers are going to carve through their opponents’ lineup tonight so I’ll roll the dice on the over 9 runs.
The Pick: Marlins/Brewers over 9
