Minnesota Twins Fantasy Spin
Jose Berrios will indeed start the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Orioles. Berrios was scheduled to start against Alex Cobb on Friday before inclement weather pushed that game back. Martin Perez will get the ball for the Twins in the nightcap on Saturday.
Baltimore Orioles Fantasy Spin
Joey Rickard went 4-for-5 and cracked a go-ahead double in the top of the 11th inning during a 6-5 win over the Rays on Thursday. He ripped a double down the left field line that plated Chris Davis with the winning run. A second runner was gunned down at the plate. Rickard had an RBI-single earlier in the game and finished with two RBI, one run scored and a walk in addition to the four knocks. It was a rare offensive outburst for Rickard, who is now slashing .212/.293/.385 with one homer and four RBI in 52 at-bats.
MLB Betting Trends
Minnesota
The Twins are 4-1 in Berrios’ last five starts but are just 6-22 in his last 28 road outings.
Baltimore
The Orioles are 59-146 in their last 205 games played.
Prediction:
Even though this is a hitter’s park and the Orioles don’t have the best pitching, the total for this game feels way too high. Berrios has four straight quality starts and a 2.31 ERA. He has struck out 28 batters of 27 1/3 innings and while Baltimore’s offense has been better of late, I don’t see the Orioles getting the best of him today. The under is 11-1 in the last 12 meetings between these two teams in Baltimore and I see it cashing in Game 1 today.
The Pick: Twins/Orioles UNDER 9.5
