Arizona Diamondbacks Fantasy Spin
Christian Walker had a two-run homer and a double Thursday as the Diamondbacks beat the Braves 4-1. Walker had three homers in his first five games, no RBI and just two hits in his following nine games and now has three homers in his last four games. That he was able to shake off the early slump should pretty much ensure that he’s a regular until Jake Lamb comes off the IL
Chicago Cubs Fantasy Spin
Ben Zobrist is not in the Cubs’ lineup Friday. It’s a routine day off. The Cubs are going with Daniel Descalso at second base (and in the leadoff spot), David Bote at third, Kris Bryant in right field and Jason Heyward in center.
MLB Betting Trends
Arizona
The Diamondbacks are 1-4 in their last five games versus the Cubs.
Chicago
The Cubs have won five of Hendricks’ last seven home starts.
Prediction:
Outside of the first game when they won 9-6, the Diamondbacks’ series sweep of the Braves was thanks in large part to outstanding pitching. They held the Braves to two runs on Wednesday and a solo shot from Freddie Freeman on Thursday. I see today’s game playing out in a similar manner for Arizona, which doesn’t have a great offense but can seemingly rely on its strong pitching in the early going. The under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams at Wrigley Field, is 36-16-1 in Kyle Hendricks’ last 53 home starts and is 5-1-1 in Arizona’s last seven games coming off a win.
The Pick: Diamondbacks/Cubs UNDER 7
