Boston Red Sox DFS SPIN
Alex Verdugo went 3-for-4 and hit his second homer of the season Wednesday in the second game of the Red Sox’ doubleheader sweep of the Twins. Verdugo singled a couple times in the first game, but he saved the good stuff for the nightcap. After grounding into a double play in his first plate appearance, Verdugo singled in the fourth inning and singled again in the fifth to plate two runs. He then came up in the seventh against lefty reliever Caleb Thielbar — who had struck out four straight batters — and hit a laser over the right field wall. It was measured at 109.4 mph off the bat. After going hitless in the Red Sox’ first series of the season in which they were swept, Verdugo has since gone 12-for-33 (.364) with two homers over the club’s nine-game winning streak.
Minnesota Twins DFS SPIN
Josh Donaldson reached base twice and scored a run in his return to the Twins’ lineup in the second game of Wednesday’s doubleheader versus the Red Sox. Donaldson singled in the bottom of the first inning in his first plate appearance since straining his right hamstring on Opening Day. He then tested out the hammy by going first to third on Nelson Cruz’s single and scored on a sac fly. He added a walk in his next trip to the plate before grounding out. He will continue to be an injury risk, but Donaldson looked healthy in this one and should be in fantasy lineups as long as he’s on the field.
Red Sox vs. Twins Betting Prediction
The Red Sox are 4-0 in their last four meetings with the Twins at Target Field and have won four out of the last five meetings in this series. Boston is also a perfect 8-0 in its last eight road games, is 11-1 in its last 12 games coming off a win and is 13-3 in its last 16 games after scoring five runs or more in its previous contest. On the other side, the Twins are just 3-7 in their last 10 games as a right-handed starter and have lost five straight overall.
