Rockies vs. Nationals Sunday Prediction
The Washington Nationals will try to salvage a split against the Colorado Rockies when the two teams wrap up their series on Sunday. After stumbling in the first two games, the Nationals can at least earn a split with the Rockies after Max Scherzer led them to victory on Saturday.

Anderson has bounced back following rough start to 2018
Tyler Anderson allowed two earned runs, seven hits and two walks with eight strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Padres. Anderson was lifted after 88 pitches through six innings, giving way to Bryan Shaw. The reliever proceeded to serve up a three-run homer to Hunter Renfroe and he ended up taking the loss in the 5-2 setback. Anderson has pitched well in each of his past two outings (both against the Padres) after getting tattooed in Arizona in his initial start on March 30.
Quotable: “We’re without one of our best players, but we’re going to have to absorb it, just like all other teams do that are without some of their stars,” manager Bud Black said. “We’re going to have to pitch well, which we have in this series, and we’re going to have to get some hits from the guys who are in the lineup, whoever they may be.”
Nationals’ Strasburg dominated Braves in last outing
Stephen Strasburg quieted Atlanta’s bats with eight scoreless innings in the Nationals’ 4-1 win Tuesday. Strasburg allowed three hits, walked two and struck out eight in the gem. It took him 103 pitches to get through eight, so he wasn’t allowed to go for his third career complete game and shutout. He’s now 2-1 with a 2.21 ERA.
Quotable: “He’s sore, real sore,” manager Dave Martinez said about Anthony Rendon before the game on Saturday. “He’s probably going to be day-to-day. The x-rays are negative so that’s a good sign.”
MLB Betting Trends
Colorado
The Rockies are 6-2 in their last eight games in Washington despite losing 6-2 on Saturday.
Washington
The Nationals are a perfect 15-0 in Strasburg’s last 15 starts when pitching the fourth game of a series.
Prediction:
The Nationals may have won yesterday but they have not played well of late. Coupled with the fact that they’re expensive because Strasburg is starting and I don’t want to lay the big wood with Washington. But I do love the under, which is 5-1-2 in Strasburg’s last eight starts against the Rockies. The under is also 3-0-1 in Strasburg’s last four home starts versus Colorado and has cashed in five of the last seven meetings in D.C. when these two teams have met.
The Pick: Rockies/Nationals under 7.5
