Los Angeles Angels Fantasy Spin
Albert Pujols cranked a solo home run and added a single Friday against the Cubs. Cole Hamels’ pitch to Pujols in the fourth inning wasn’t a bad one, but the future Hall of Famer golfed it deep into the Wrigley Field bleachers. Unfortunately for the Angels, it was one of only four hits and the lone run they managed on the day. Pujols is off to another poor start this season (.239/.333/.391), but manager Brad Ausmus has shown no inclination to move him out of the middle of the order.
Chicago Cubs Fantasy Spin
Anthony Rizzo smacked a long two-run home run Friday against the Angels. Rizzo got the scoring going for the Cubbies with a mammoth home run to right field off of Tyler Skaggs that was measured at 472 feet. It was his lone hit in four trips to the plate. Rizzo entered the day in a 2-for-20 slide at the dish.
MLB Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Angels are just 1-5 in their last six games at Wrigley field and are now winless in their last five games versus the Cubs overall.
Chicago
The Cubs have won 10 of Kyle Hendricks’ last 14 starts overall and are 5-1 in his last six home outings.
Prediction:
I know Mike Trout wasn’t in the lineup Friday for the Angels but the club still only mustered one run (on Pujols’ towering shot) despite the fact that the wind was blowing straight out to left. The Cubs put on a power display and could do it again today but if the Angels aren’t going to chip in, then there’s value in the under. The under is 15-4-2 in the Halos’ last 21 games and is 36-15-1 in Hendricks’ last 52 home starts.
The Pick: Angels/Cubs UNDER 9.5
