Reds vs. Pirates Sunday Prediction
The Reds can’t buy a win in the early going but will try to salvage at least one game in Pittsburgh when they visit the Pirates at 1:35 p.m. ET on Sunday. Given the offensive struggles of Cincinnati, is the under the best play on the board for bettors?

Cincinnati Reds Fantasy Spin
Joey Votto belted his first home run of the 2019 campaign as the Reds fell to the Pirates on Saturday afternoon in Pittsburgh. Votto’s blast was an important one too, as his solo shot off of Keone Kela tied the game at 5-5 in the eighth inning, eventually forcing extra innings. He also singled in the game, finishing the afternoon 2-for-5. For the season, Votto is slashing .233/.324/.433 with one home run and just the one RBI through his first eight games
Pittsburgh Pirates Fantasy Spin
Josh Bell went 3-for-5 with a double, homer and two RBI as the Pirates defeated the Reds in extra innings on Saturday. Bell opened the scoring in the ballgame with an RBI double off of Tanner Roark in the first inning. He then victimized Roark again in the fifth, crushing a solo homer to right center to pull the Bucs to within a run at 4-3. With the three-hit attack, Bell is now hitting .269/.333/.462 with one long ball and six RBI on the young season.
MLB Betting Trends
Cincinnati
The Reds are 5-16 in their last 21 games versus the Pirates overall and have lost 14 of their last 17 games played at PNC Park.
Pittsburgh
The Pirates have won four of their last five games against the Reds when Anthony DeSclafani starts.
Prediction:
The Reds have scored only 16 runs across their first eight games and will not have Votto in the lineup on Sunday. This club really misses Scooter Gennett, who remains out with a groin injury. Chris Archer owns a 25.9 career strikeout rate and should fare well versus this Cincinnati lineup. The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams and cashed in seven of the previous 10 meetings at PNC Park.
The Pick: Cardinals/Pirates UNDER 8
