He allowed one run over four innings on four hits and three walks. BETTING STRATEGIES
These two opened their weekend series on Thursday, with Boston picking up a 3-2 victory over Tampa Bay. The game went 12 innings as Boston found itself down 2-0 after eight and had to rally to force extra innings. Xander Bogaerts drove in the tying run in the ninth and then Hanley Ramirez had a walk-off single in the 12th. Ramirez drove in two of Boston’s three runs.
David Price pitched seven scoreless innings for the Sox, but took a no-decision. Yonny Chirinos also had a scoreless start, as he went five innings for the Rays, allowing just three hits. Tampa had to just six bullpen arms as Alex Colome blew the save in the ninth. Matt Duffy drove in both runs for Tampa in the loss.
Boston has won all four meetings against Tampa Bay this season, but all have been by just one run. The Rays have been able to tame the Boston lineup thus far, but the Sox just have too much talent on the mound and at the plate to be held down by the Rays for long. Thursday was Tampa’s chance to get a win and they still couldn’t do it. I don’t see it coming today against Porcello either.
