Dodgers vs. Giants Prediction
Will Saturday evening’s National League West matchup between the L.A. Dodgers and San Francisco Giants turn into an unexpected pitcher’s duel at 6:05 p.m. ET?
(955) Los Angeles Dodgers at (956) San Francisco Giants
Saturday, April 7, 2018
TV: SNLA (LAD); CSBA (SF), 6:05 p.m. ET
According to oddsmakers from online sports book YouWager, the Dodgers are -131 moneyline favorites to beat the Giants, who have +117 money line odds to pull off the upset today at home. The total, meanwhile, sits at 7.5 runs.
The Dodgers opened as -165 money line favorites but their line dropped to -129, while the Giants’ odds dropped from +140 down to +117. The total, meanwhile, sits at 7.5 runs after hitting the board at that same number.
PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION
As of this writing, 64% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Cubs to beat the Brewers on the money line. Meanwhile, 76% of the betting tickets are on the over.
It’s tempting to jump on the Dodgers because they’re the better team with the better starter today but the line movement for this game has me thrown off. Sharps clearly favor the Giants since their odds have significantly improved off their opening number despite the majority of public bettors being on the Dodgers. Thus, let’s stay away from the side.
The total, however, screams the under despite the Giants’ ability to find their offense the other day against Felix Hernandez and the Mariners. Hill is a strikeout artist and the Giants lack punch. On the other side, Stratton is your prototypical No. 5 starter, capable of keeping his team in the ballgame but not dominant enough to back every fifth day. If both Hill and Stratton limit the damage through the first five or six innings, I like my chances of cashing the under with these two bullpens.
SATURDAY MLB PREDICTION: DODGERS/GIANTS UNDER 7.5
