Royals vs. Indians Pick

MLB Predictions: Will the Indians top the Royals in their home opener?

Will the Cleveland Indians have any trouble at home defeating the Kansas City Royals when the two meet today at 4:10 PM ET?

(909) Kansas City Royals at (910) Cleveland Indians

Friday, April 6, 2018

Location: Progressive Field – Cleveland, Ohio

Weather: Cloudy/Windy, 42 degrees, 21mph Winds

Time: 4:10PM ET

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Cleveland is heavily favored in this game, as the Indians are getting odds of -215 to win against Kansas City. The Royals are getting a money line of +190 to prevail. The over/under total is currently listed at 7.5 runs.

The pitching matchup today features Danny Duffy on the mound for the Royals to face Carlos Carrasco of the Indians. Carrasco pitched 5.2 innings in his season debut and got the win against the Mariners despite allowing five runs and seven hits. Duffy took a loss against the White Sox in his first start last week after allowing five runs and seven hits over four innings, including three home runs.

Bet on MLB for Friday, April 6, 2018

The public is backing the Indians today. Cleveland is currently getting 78 percent of the wagers for this game as the home favorite against the Royals.

The Royals have first baseman Lucas Duda listed on the injury report for today’s game. He is dealing with a tight hamstring and had to leave Monday’s game. Duda hasn’t played since. Cleveland is hoping to get Michael Brantley back today. He started the season on the DL with an ankle injury.

Cleveland gets set for its home opener after starting the year 2-4 out West with series losses to Seattle and the L.A. Angels. The Indians have put up 21 runs over six games while allowing 28. Edwin Encarnacion has three home runs and four RBI to lead the team while Yonder Alonso has two home runs and five RBI.

The Royals are 1-3 to start the season, having just four games thus far due to weather cancellations. They have scored 12 runs in four games against the Tigers and White Sox while allowing 24. Duda was leading the team before his injury with the lone home run and five RBI. Cheslor Cuthbert has the top average on the team at .400.

Cleveland has won four of its last six meetings with the Royals, but three of the last four between these two have been decided by one run. If taking Cleveland, it’s only worth value to go with a run line of -1.5. I still think that will be safe. Cleveland should be up for its home opener and they get to face Duffy, who looked rough in his first start.
