The Dodgers opened as -135 money line favorites but their odds climbed to -153, while the Gians’ line jumped from +115 to +138. As for the total, it hit the board at 8.5 but the number has dropped to 8 at the majority of sportsbooks online.

OUR PREDICTION:
Plenty of public bettors will race to the betting window to bet the under tonight, which does make sense. Maeda was outstanding in this same matchup a week ago, pitching five scoreless innings while striking out 10. Public bettors also watched the Giants get shutout twice last weekend in L.A., including on national TV last Sunday night. That said, Maeda’s brilliant performance came at home. This time around he’ll pitch at AT&T Park, where he owns a 14.29 ERA and has surrendered 13 hits over 5 2/3 innings. He didn’t record a freaking out beyond the third inning in either of those outings last year and if AT&T puts its witch magic on Maeda again tonight, there’s a good chance the Giants will contribute enough to the score to push it over the total.
On the other end of the spectrum is Holland, who has been one of the worst pitchers in the game since 2016. The only reason he cracked the Giants’ starting rotation to start the year is that he pitched just well enough in spring training to earn a spot when Madison Bumgarner and Jeff Samardzija were placed on the disabled list. As soon as both are back, Holland could wind up back on the streets. My point is, the Dodgers should knock this dude around plenty in what should be a relatively high-scoring game.
