Los Angeles Dodgers Fantasy Spin
Enrique Hernandez went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and a pair of runs scored in the Dodgers’ 5-3 win over the division-rival Giants on Wednesday. Hernandez led-off the bottom of the first inning with a mammoth blast — his third long-ball of the season — to left field off Giants’ southpaw Derek Holland. He also doubled in the fifth before drawing a walk and eventually coming around to score the go-ahead run on a two-run double by David Freese in the seventh. The 27-year-old lefty-masher has gotten off to a scorching-hot start, hitting .435/.500/.870 with seven runs scored and six RBI in 28 plate appearances. He’s locked in as the Dodgers’ everyday second baseman and their primary leadoff hitter against left-handed pitching. He needs to be owned in all fantasy formats moving forward.
Colorado Rockies Fantasy Spin
Chris Iannetta was responsible for the game’s lone run, delivering a pinch-hit solo bomb Wednesday in the Rockies’ 11-inning win over Tampa Bay. Iannetta didn’t start Wednesday’s game but all he needed was one at-bat to be the hero. The veteran backstop broke a scoreless tie in the 11th by sending Chaz Roe’s one-out offering into the left field seats at cavernous Tropicana Field. A .231 lifetime hitter in the big leagues, the 35-year-old isn’t someone fantasy owners should be targeting, especially while he splits time with Tony Wolters behind the plate.
MLB Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Dodgers are 11-2 in their last 13 games when their opponent allows two runs or less in its previous game.
Colorado
The Rockies have lost 11 of Tyler Anderson’s last 15 home starts and are 7-20 in his last 27 outings overall.
Prediction:
The Rockies have been a terrible bet when Anderson faces the Dodgers. They’re 1-9 in his last 10 outings versus Los Angeles overall and did not win at any point in Anderson’s last five home starts versus the Dodgers. Los Angeles is also a perfect 5-0 in the last five meetings between these two teams.
The Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers -135
