OUR PREDICTION
This is a tough matchup because these two pitchers aren’t great and yet they’ll benefit from playing in a pitcher-friendly ballpark. Freeland doesn’t strike many batters out but if he keeps the ball on the ground that will play well into the under. And on the other side, Ross is hard to get a feel for because injuries have taken their toll on a once promising career. The under is 5-2 in Ross’ last seven starts versus Colorado, however, and is 22-8-4 in his last 34 home starts. Plus, the under is 18-7-3 in Freeland’s last 28 outings dating back to last season and is 10-2-1 in his last 13 starts when facing the rest of the National League West. Given the line movement of this game (8.5 down to 8), I’ll roll the dice on this game falling under the total.
TUESDAY MLB PREDICTION: ROCKIES/PADRES UNDER 8.5
