Orioles vs. Astros Pick

MLB Predictions: Can the Astros beat the Orioles by multiple runs? 4/3/18

Will the Houston Astros pick up another lopsided win over the Baltimore Orioles when the two meet tonight at 8:10PM ET?

(967) Baltimore Orioles at (968) Houston Astros

Tuesday, April 3, 2018

Location: Minute Maid Park – Houston, Texas

Weather: Indoors

Time: 8:10PM ET

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Houston is heavily favored in this game, as the Astros are getting odds of -250 to win against Baltimore. The Orioles are getting a money line of +215 to prevail. The over/under total is currently listed at 8.5 runs.

The pitching matchup today has Justin Verlander on the mound for the Astros to face Mike Wright of the Orioles. Verlander won his first start at Texas last week, as he pitched six scoreless innings and allowed just four hits with five strikeouts. Wright is making his first start of the season. He appeared in 13 games last year but didn’t get a start. He had a 5.76 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 25 innings of work.

Bet on MLB for Tuesday, April 3, 2018

The public betting for this game is behind the Astros. Houston is getting 82 percent of the wagers as the clear favorite against the Orioles.

Baltimore continues to have Mark Trumbo on the injury report. Trumbo is on the DL due to a quad strain. Houston shortstop Carlos Correa is questionable for today’s game after suffering a toe injury on Monday.

The Astros picked up another win on Monday, defeating the Orioles to improve to 4-1 on the season. Charlie Morton pitched six scoreless innings for the Astros, striking out six, to earn the win. Chris Tillman gave up four runs over four innings to take the loss for the Orioles.

Houston racked up 11 hits in the win. George Springer, Brian McCann and Derek Fisher each had a pair of hits in the victory while Fisher drove in two runs. Adam Jones led Baltimore at the plate with a pair of hits while Trey Mancini drove in the lone Houston run.

The Astros won on the run line yesterday and I think they can do it again today. Verlander clearly is the better of the two starting pitchers and Houston has the much better lineup. Even if Correa is out, Yuli Guriel will return to the team today after serving his 5-game suspension.
