PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION
The public betting for this game is behind the Astros. Houston is getting 73 percent of the wagers as the clear favorite against the Orioles.
KEY INJURIES
Houston continues to be without Yuri Gurriel due to a 5-game suspension from back during the World Series. He is due back on Tuesday. Baltimore continues to have Mark Trumbo on the injury report. Trumbo is on the DL due to a quad strain.
BETTING STRATEGIES
Houston started its World Series defense with a 3-1 record at Texas this past weekend. The Astros scored 22 runs in the four games while allowing 11 to the Rangers. Jose Altuve is off to a great start, batting .563 through three games with nine hits and five runs scored. Carlos Correra is hitting .438 with five RBI and three doubles.
The Orioles started the season 1-2 at home against the Twins. Baltimore has put up 5 runs while allowing 15. Baltimore is being led by Manny Machado, who had three hits with a double. Tim Beckham is one of two players with multiple RBI and a home run.
It’s hard to take Houston at -210, but the Astros do have a line of -120 on the run line of -1.5 runs against the Orioles today. Baltimore hasn’t looked good against some questionable Minnesota pitching at home. I doubt they will look good against strong Houston pitching on the road. The Astros should be able to light up Tillman and cruise to a big win today.
MLB PREDICTIONS: HOUSTON ASTROS -1.5 (-120)
