BETTING STRATEGIES
Boston opened its series with a four-game series win over the Rays in Tampa, going 3-1. The Red Sox scored 10 runs over the four games and allowed nine, but gave up just three over the final three games. Xander Bogaerts is leading the Red Sox so far with eight hits, five doubles, four runs, a home run and two RBI. Rafael Devers has driven in four runs as well.
Miami split four games at home with the Cubs this weekend. The Marlins scored 18 runs over the four games while allowing 19. The Marlins are being led by Brian Anderson thus far. He has six hits, three runs and five RBI. Derek Dietrich has the lone Marlins home run and has driven in three runs.
These two haven’t met since 2015 and it’s hard to see the Marlins beating the Red Sox consistently on paper. We don’t know what to expect from Richards on the mound, but sometimes that can work to a team’s advantage. Boston won’t have much tape on him to study. Still, the Red Sox have the better lineup and the stronger bullpen. The Boston hitters should be able to get to the rookie while Johnson and the pen keep Miami somewhat in check.
