Today’s pitching matchup features Zack Greinke on the mound for the Diamondbacks to face German Marquez of the Rockies. Marquez was 11-7 last season over 29 starts. He posted a 4.39 ERA and 1.38 WHIP with 147 strikeouts and 49 walks. Greinke is coming off a strong 2017 where he went 17-7 over 32 starts. He had a 3.20 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 6.0 WAR. He also had 215 strikeouts with 45 walks.

PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION
The public is backing the Diamondbacks today. Arizona is currently getting 80 percent of the wagers for this game as the home favorite against the Rockies.
KEY INJURIES
Arizona doesn’t have any hitters listed on the injury report for this game while Colorado has shortstop Pat Valaika as questionable with an oblique injury. He hit .258 for the Rockies last season over 110 games and produced 11 doubles, 13 home runs and 40 RBI.
BETTING STRATEGIES
Arizona has won the first two games in this series, picking up 8-2 and 9-8 wins. The Diamondbacks have now won five straight against the Rockies dating back to last season.
Friday’s 9-8 win saw the Diamondbacks start fast with five runs in the first inning. However, the game would be tied 7-7 in the fifth before Arizona picked up the eventual winning runs. Nick Ahmed led Arizona at the plate with three hits and five RBI. Charlie Blackmon drove in three runs for Colorado. Both starters struggled on the mound, as Robbie Ray lasted just five innings and gave up seven runs while Tyler Anderson allowed seven runs over 2.1 innings.
It’s hard to see the Diamondbacks struggling tonight with Greinke on the mound. He has been Arizona’s ace for the past few years and he gets to face a Colorado team that has struggled on the road over its history. Marquez doesn’t have the stuff to match Greinke and I expect Arizona to light him up quickly.
