CURRENT ODDS
According to oddsmakers from online sports book YouWager, the Astros are -180 money line favorites to beat the Rangers, who have odds of +162 to pull off the upset. As for the total, it currently sits at 9.5 runs.
LINE MOVEMENT
Houston opened as -200 money line favorites but the Astros’ line dropped to -180, while the Rangers went from +170 money line underdogs, down to +162. The total, meanwhile, remains 9.5 after hitting the board at that same number.
PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION
As of this writing, 70% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks on tonight’s game are on the Astros to win on the money line. Meanwhile, 83% of the betting tickets are on the under.
OUR PREDICTION
Keuchel looked like the same pitcher that won the American League Cy Young Award in 2015 last year when he dominated for the ‘Stros. He’s 40-24 with a 3.29 ERA in 89 career games (82 starts) prior to the All-Star Break and was outstanding against the Rangers last season, posting a 3-1 record with a 2.92 ERA in four starts.
Fister, meanwhile, pitched well for the Red Sox before fading poorly down the stretch. With wind a potential factor tonight in Arlington, I like the under to cash for bettors.
FRIDAY MLB PREDICTION: ASTROS/RANGERS UNDER 9.5
