OUR PREDICTION
This isn’t a good spot to back the underdog Blue Jays, even though they do have some value as a home dog playing on Opening Day. Severino mowed down batters last year while also keeping his walks down and the ball on the ground when it was put in play. His matchup today with Toronto is favorable, as the Jays will have six batters in their projected lineup with a strikeout rate of at least 20% versus right-handed pitching. On the other side, Happ doesn’t own a high strikeout rate and he’s facing the most dangerous lineup in baseball. Good luck, J.A.
