Updated 2018 World Series Odds
The 2018 MLB season kicks off on Thursday and with that, here’s one last look at the pre-season odds for every team to win the World Series.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book YouWager, the Astros and Dodgers are co-favorites to win the 2018 World Series at 11/2, respectively. The team with the next-best odds is the stacked Yankees, whoa re 6/1, followed by the Cubs at 7/1.
Other teams that are also in the mix as serious World Series contenders are the Indians and Nationals, who are 8/1 and 9/1, respectively. The Red Sox are also 10/1, followed by the Twins and Cardinals at 20/1, although with those odds, Minnesota and St. Louis are most-likely wild card contenders heading into the regular season.
From there we start to get into some of the long-shots like the Angels and Mets, who are both 25/1, respectively, to win the Fall Classic this year. The Brewers are also 30/1, followed by the Diamondbacks at 35/1. The Rockies and Blue Jays are 45/1, respectively.
Some teams that aren’t likely to contend but if enough things go right they could surprise are the Giants and Mariners, who are 50/1, respectively, to win the World Series. The new-look Phillies are also 80/1.
The odds drop off a cliff from that point. The Braves, Orioles, White Sox, A’s and Rangers are all 200/1, respectively, while the Rays and Pirates are 250/1, respectively. The Reds and Padres are 300/1, respectively, followed by the Tigers at 450/1 and the Royals and Marlins at 500/1, respectively.
