Ryder Cup Predictions 9/27/18, Who Will Win?

The 2018 Ryder Cup is set to get started early on Friday morning in France. Which teams, the United States or Europe, will come away with the victory this weekend?

According to the latest oddsmakers, the United States is slightly favored to win, as they are getting odds of -135 to win. Europe is listed with a money line of +145 while the odds of a tie are being set at +1100. The Ryder Cup is a 3-day event, featuring 4 foursomes and 4 fourball matches each of the first two days and then 12 singles matches on Sunday. Each match is done in match-play format and is worth 1 point to the winner or ½ on a tie. The 2018 Ryder Cup takes place Friday-Sunday from Le Golf National, Albatros Course in Guyancourt, France.

Bet on the Ryder Cup

The European team is captained by Thomas Bjorn and features a team of Francecso Molinari, Justin Rose, Tyrrell Hatton, Tommy Fleetwood, Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Alex Noren, Thorbjorn Olesen, Paul Casey, Sergio Garcia, Ian Poulter and Henrik Stenson.

The United States is the defending champion and comes in with a stacked team. The Americans are captained by Jim Furyk and include a team of Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, Patrick Reed, Bubba Watson, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Webb Simpson, Bryson DeChambeau, Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and Tony Finau.

The United States comes in as the current holder of the Ryder Cup following a dominant 17-11 victory in 2016 in the U.S. However, Europe has won six of the last eight Ryder Cup events and the United States hasn’t won a Ryder Cup on European soil since 1993. Despite the history not being with the U.S., I feel this team is perhaps as good as the Americans have ever had. The team consists of many of the top 20 in the world rankings and a lot of them are playing at a very high level right now. Winning in Europe won’t be easy, but if this team can’t do it, I am not sure there is a team that will.

Ryder Cup Prediction: United States -135
