PGA Picks and Predictions 4/27/16 – Zurich Classic of New Orleans

The 2016 Zurich Classic of New Orleans begins play on Thursday morning. Here are a trio of golfers that we think can win this weekend.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Jason Day is favored to win this tournament, as he has 5/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Justin Rose (8/1) and Rickie Fowler (11/1). The Zurich Classic of New Orleans takes place Thursday-Sunday from TPC Louisiana in Avondale, Louisiana.

Bet on the Zurich Classic of New Orleans

Jason Day is the top-ranked golfer in the world and clearly playing the best of anyone in the golfing world right now. He has four top-10 finishes with two victories to his credit. This is a competitive field, but Day should be able to work his way to the top.

Justin Rose is the defending champion of this tournament and comes in 10th in the world rankings. Rose hasn’t been able to grab a win this year, but he has finished in the top 10 in five of his last six events. Look for him to have another strong showing at a course he’s done well at.

Anirban Lahiri is a dark horse this weekend with 90/1 odds to win, but we think he has some value. Lahiri has been working his way up the world rankings, currently sitting in 53rd place. He showed some good ability at the Masters, placing 42nd in just his second appearance. That experience should lead to improvement, as he hasn’t played since and should be ready to go this weekend. He has been in the top 40 in 16 of his last 19 events. Clearly he is consistent at making cuts, now he just needs to have a breakout weekend. We think that could be this week.
