Can Spieth hold on for a win?
Halfway through the first PGA event of 2016, Jordan Spieth has found himself atop the leaderboard once again. Can he hang on in the Hyundai Tournament of Champions?
Spieth put up a 9-under 64 on Friday to emerge with a 4-shot lead in the tournament at -16 overall. He had a 66 in Thursday’s opening round. Kevin Kisner, Fabian Gomez and Patrick Reed all sit in second at -12 overall.
According to oddsmkers from RealBets, Spieth currently is listed at -400 to end up winning this tournament while Reed has been given odds of +600 to win. Kisner is listed at +850, while Gomez is well back at +3000.
Spieth had an eagle on the ninth hole, allowing him to go 5-under over the last five holes of the front nine. He then finished the back nine 4-under over his last six holes. He has yet to record a bogey in the 36 holes of this tournament.
