UFC Fight Night 25 Odds
NEW ORLEANS, LA (TheSpread) – Two top welterweight contenders meet up in the main event of UFC Ultimate Fight Night 25 on Saturday night. Here is a look at the odds for this MMA event.
View Real-Time Sports Betting Odds
Saturday’s main event features welterweights Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger squaring off live from the New Orleans Convention Center at 9PM ET on Spike TV. Shields comes into the fight as the favorite with odds of -200 while Ellenberger has odds of +160. Shields (26-5-1) hasn’t competed since losing to Georges St. Pierre for the UFC Championship last April. He is a wrestling specialist that had a 15-fight win streak before falling to GSP. Ellenberger is an explosive striker that has won his last four contests, three of which were by knockout. The key to this contest will be where the fight takes place. If it is on the ground, Shields has the edge. If it is on the feet, Ellenberger should be able to get the win.
In the co-main event, middleweights Court McGee (12-1) and Dongi Yang (10-1) will face off. McGee comes into the contest as the slight favorite with odds of -165, while Yang has a money line of +135. McGee is 2-0 in the UFC, winning both fights by submission while Yang is 1-1 in the octagon. All but one of Yang’s wins have come by TKO as he has some heavy hands, but he did suffer a decision loss to Chris Camozzi last October. McGee looks like he may be more of a well-rounded fighter than Camozzi, and should have the ability to get the fight to the ground. Still, if Yang lands one of his punches, the fight could end instantly.
