Edgar vs. Faber Odds
MANILA, Phillipines (The Spread) – Two all-time great lighter weight fighters meet up in the main event of UFC Fight Night 66 this Saturday as Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber meet in a featherweight clash.
Edgar (18-4-1) is a former UFC lightweight champion and a former No. 1 contender in the featherweight division. He has won three straight fights and is likely a top contender for a title with a win over Faber (32-7). Faber is a former WEC 145-pound champion that has been competing at 135 pounds over the last few years. He has won six of his last seven fights, which his last two losses coming to Renan Barao.
According to the oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Edgar is the clear favorite in this fight, as he has a money line of -450 to win, while Faber has been given odds of +325 to prevail. This fight will be the main event of UFC Fight Night this Saturday at 10AM ET. The event takes place from the Mall of Asia Arena and air live on Fox Sports 1.
Both men have great speed and great footwork. Both also like to use their speed to mix up unpredictable striking and takedowns. Edgar may be the bigger of the two fighters, but Faber has good strength for a man of his size. The key will be which fighter is quicker to pull the trigger on his strikes and takedown attempts. Both men have had a number of five-round fights, so conditioning shouldn’t be a problem either way. This fight could be much closer than the oddsmakers have it listed.
