This fight will take place from the MGM Hotel & Carnio in Las Vegas, Nevada and will air live on PPV. The fight will have the WBC, WBA and The Ring Welterweight championships on the line.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Mayweather Jr. is the clear favorite to win this bout, as he has odds of -1000 to win, while Maidana has a money line of +600 to prevail. The fight has a money line of -270 to go the full 12 rounds and odds of +185 to finish with a KO or TKO.
Mayweather Jr. is 45-0 in his career with 26 KO victories. He is coming off a win over Saul Alvarez back on Sept. 14 of last year. He has won his last three fights by decision. Mayweather has tremendous quickness and speed and uses counter punching to pick apart his opponents. Thus far, nobody has been able to match his speed and figure out a way to defeat him.
Maidana is 35-3 coming into this fight. His last fight came on Dec. 14, where he beat Adrien Broner by decision. He has won his last four fights, with three of the wins coming by KO. Maidana has really good punching power, has 31 of his 35 wins have come by knockout. The key for the challenger will be if he has the speed to contend with Mayweather and the conditioning to go 12 rounds with him.
