St. Pierre defeats Diaz
St. Pierre (24-2) picked up another unanimous decision victory, his sixth straight 25-minute decision victory, over Diaz (26-9). St. Pierre was able to use his takedowns to get Diaz to the ground and control him. St. Pierre also did some damage on the feet, but Diaz looked to land more significant strikes when the two slugged it out. Diaz had a small window open up in the third round, as he appeared to rock St. Pierre, but the champion was able to stay composed and score a takedown to get out of danger. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, St. Pierre was favored to win this fight, as he had odds of -465 to win, which means a wager of $465 on GSP will pay out an additional $100.
The co-main event of Saturday’s card saw Johny Hendricks (15-1) def. Carlos Condit (28-7) by unanimous decision. The fight was a classic, as both men took and dealt a solid amount of punishment. Hendricks landed some big punches early and then mixed in takedowns, but Condit got stronger as the fight went along. Had the bout went another two rounds, Condit may have come out on top. But, it was just three rounds, and judges felt Hendricks won two of the three rounds and earned the decision. Hendricks had a money line of -140 to win, which means a wager of $140 on him to win will pay out an additional $100.
