The announcement came on Friday evening from Team Mayweather online that the fight will take place in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 2. These two have been largely considered the top two pound-for-pound fighters in the world and they will compete at 147 pounds.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Mayweather Jr. is the favorite to win this anticipated bout, as he has a money line of -285 to prevail. Pacquiao has been given odds of +225 to prevail.
Mayweather has 26 KO’s in his career with 21 decision victories. His last five fights have been decided by the judges, with two of the fights only being a majority decision. He suffered a knockdown at the hands of Shane Mosley back in 2010, but hasn’t been beaten up since. Pacquiao is 57-5-2 in his career, having won his last three fights have dropping two straight fights. He has won two decisions in 2014. The key to this fight will be if Pacquiao can match Mayweather’s speed and not allow Jr. to pick him apart like he has all other opponents
