The NFL won’t suspend Brett Favre for (possibly) his final game with the Vikings, but they have fined him for what they deem as a lack of cooperation in the Jenn Sterger case.
Sterger claims that Favre sent her lewd text messages of his junk when they were both employed by the New York Jets in 2008. She also claims that he called her several times and had the voice messages to prove it. Favre admitted to that he did call Sterger, but that the text messages photos weren’t of his junk.
The NFL decided to fine Favre $50,000, which is a drop in the pocket for him. He made $16 million this season, so the fine is less than one percent of his overall pay. After the NFL announced its decision, Sterger’s lawyer’s said that he and his client are disappointed but not surprised by the ruling. He then went on to say that the NFL is still a “good ol’ boys” league.
The Vikings travel to Detroit this Sunday to take on the Lions and Favre is not expected to play due to a concussion. According to current NFL odds and oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com, the Vikings are 3.5-point underdogs.
