Saints coach Sean Payton called Drew Brees day-to-day after the quarterback suffered a foot injury in the team’s loss to the Lions on Monday night.
Brees is reportedly visiting with Dr. Robert Anderson in North Carolina and the belief is that he’s dealing with a torn plantar fascia. He’ll likely play assuming that he can’t suffer further injury, which is believed to be the case with a torn plantar fascia.
Nevertheless, the point spread for Sunday’s game between the Saints and Jaguars is currently off the board in Las Vegas. New Orleans opened as a 3.5-point home favorite over Jacksonville but the line was taken off the board with the news of Brees’ injury.
If Brees can’t go on Sunday, veteran quarterback Matt Flynn would step in for the Saints against the Jaguars. The line for the game could drop to around a pick’em if Flynn were to start.
