Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner has gone to the locker room after spraining his right ankle against Carolina.
Bet NFL Week 11
Turner rolled the ankle when he was tackled at the end of a 10-yard run that gave him 111 yards on just nine carries. He took off his shoe and walked around some before heading inside.
The Falcons said his return was questionable.
The injury left Atlanta short-handed in the backfield. Backup Jerious Norwood was inactive with a hip injury and Aaron Stecker was released Saturday. Jason Snelling ran for a 1-yard TD after Turner left.
After the game, Turner said that the team took an MRI on the injured ankle, but results weren’t immediately available. If he misses significant time, the Falcons’ running game could be in trouble and they may look to sign a free agent.
It’s doubtful that the Falcons would be interested in Larry Johnson, however.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com made the Falcons a 1.5-point favorite in their game against the Panthers on Sunday. Carolina beat Atlanta 28-19.
