Oddsmakers have compiled the exact 2010 World Series matchup odds for the four remaining teams and a Yankees-Phillies rematch is favored above all else.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made a Yankees-Phillies matchup 11/10, while a Yankees-Giants matchup is 15/4, a Rangers-Phillies matchup is 12/5 and a Rangers-Giants matchup is 13/2.
The Phillies are favored to win the 2010 Wolrd Series at 27/20, but the Yankees aren’t far behind at 9/5. The Rangers are 9/2, while the Giants are considered the long-shots at 5/1.
The Phillies are –250 on the moneyline to beat the Giants in the NLCS, while the Yankees are –170 to beat the Rangers in the ALCS. The action gets kicked off tonight in the ALCS, while the Giants are at the Phillies for Game 1 of the NLCS, which starts on Saturday night.
The NLCS will feature some of the best pitching in all of baseball, as the Phillies’ top 3 starters are Halladay, Roy Oswalt and Hamels. The Giants’ boast some of the top young arms in the game in Tim Lincecum, Matt Cain, Jonathan Sanchez and Madison Bumgarner, who is just a rookie.
In the ALCS, the Yankees’ veteran lineup should be well-rested, but the Rangers now boast a top-flight pitching staff to go along with an offense that has always had a lot of pop. This series could potentially go down to the wire because the teams are so evenly matched.
