After tearing up UCLA last weekend, Stanford is now a 17.5-point favorite at home against ACC foe Wake Forest. Can the Cardinal cover?
Stanford is a 17.5-point favorite at home according to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com. The over/under has been set at 60.
Stanford is 2-0 on the year and 1-0 against the spread while hitting the under in the game. The Cardinal is 10-2 ATS at home over the last three seasons and 8-4 ATS as a favorite during that same stretch. Stanford has hit the over in 13-of-17 games after a conference battle since 2008 while also hitting in 17-of-26 games overall.
Wake Forest is 2-0 on the year and 1-1 against the spread while hitting the over in the one game. The Demon Deacons are 1-4 ATS after winning two-straight since 2008 and 4-6 ATS in road games over the last three seasons. The Deacons have hit the under for the most part, hitting in 7-of-10 road games since 2008 and in 5-of-8 games where it is an underdog during that same period.
Stanford was very impressive last week against UCLA, but we feel they are due for somewhat of a letdown. Not to say they won’t win, but we don’t think they will cover. The Decons played Stanford close a year ago and we can see this game being a high-scoring affair.
