Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki is out of the lineup for a third straight game with a stiff back.
Bet 2009 World Series Odds
Rockies manager Jim Tracy left open the possibility that Tulowitzki could be used as a pinch hitter Thursday against the Cincinnati Reds.
Tulowitzki came out of Monday's game in the seventh inning after straining his back following a game-tying single.
The Rockies also are missing Ian Stewart, who has a stiff back.
Tracy says closer Huston Street is progressing and would play catch Thursday. Street has not pitched since Sept. 1 due to biceps tendinitis.
Jason Giambi is filling in for Todd Helton at first base, giving the slick-fielding Helton a day off before the team heads out on a nine-game road trip.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made the Rockies 12/1 to win the 2009 World Series as they close in on the NL Wild Card. The Rockies are also 6/1 to win the NL Pennant.
