Lidge and Manuel spoke following Wednesday night's game against Washington. On Thursday, the manager wouldn't say when or if Lidge will get his job back as closer.
The right-hander converted all 48 of his save chances last year, including the postseason, to help the Phillies win the World Series. This year, he has 10 blown saves in 38 opportunities.
Manuel used Ryan Madson to close out Wednesday night's 6-5 win over the Nationals while Lidge stayed in the bullpen.

Oddsmakers from online sports book Sports have made the Phillies’ 9/2 to win the 2009 World Series and 3/1 to win the NL Pennant.
