Just days after firing coach Tim Beckman, Illinois will kick off its 2015 season tonight when it hosts Kent State at 9:00PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Fighting Illini are now 14.5-point home favorites over the Golden Flashes while the over/under total sits at 52 points. There hasn't been much line movement for tonight's game, although Illinois did drop from a 15.5-point favorite down to a 14.5-point fave.
The Fighting Illini are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five non-conference games and are 2-7 ATS in their last nine games versus the MAC. They're also 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games on fieldturf.
As for the Golden Flashes, they're 4-1 against the spread in their last five games overall and 5-1-2 ATS in their last eight games played on Friday, but they're winless at 0-7 ATS in their last seven games versus Big Ten opponents.
