SAN FRANCISCO, CA (The Spread) – The Giants go for the sweep against the Nationals today at 4:05PM ET and will have their ace on the mound in Madison Bumgarner.
But having Bumgarner on the mound hasn’t been a good thing for the Giants when they’ve played the Nationals in years past. In fact, San Francisco is winless at 0-5 in its last five games versus Washington when Bumgarner starts the game.
The under has also been profitable in this matchup, going 4-1 in Bumgarner’s last five starts versus the Nationals and 7-3 in the last 10 meetings overall between these two teams.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Giants are -159 money line favorites over the Nationals after opening with -165 odds to win. With Bumgarner facing Joe Ross in the pitching matchup, the total has gone from 6.5 up to 7.
