Pittsburgh Pirates aren’t done trading, which was proven Thursday when they traded reliever John Grabow and starter Tom Gorzelanny to the Chicago Cubs, although it’s unclear at this point who the Bucs are getting in return.
Chicago’s starters have been outstanding this season, but the bullpen needed help and Grabow should have an immediate impact. He currently has a 3.42 ERA with 41 strikeouts, 16 holds and a 1.50 WHIP.
The Cubs are currently tied atop the NL Central standings with the St. Louis Cardinals. The Brewers and Astros are both four games behind Chicago and St. Louis, while all four teams are still in contention for the NL Wild Card.
With the addition of Grabow, oddsmakers from online sports book Sports Interaction currently have the Cubs listed at 15/1 to win the 2009 World Series and are 7/1 to win the NL Pennant.
